The Xella Group acquires round about 70% of the shares in the listed calcium silicate block manufacturer Rapid Apatin in Serbia as part of a voluntary takeover process.
Rapid Apatin's calcium silicate unit plant is located in the emerging region of northwestern Serbia, close to the borders to Croatia and Hungary. Opened in 1982, the calcium silicate plant with a capacity of about 30,000 m3 offers the best conditions to meet the growing demand for affordable and sustainable housing in the markets of Western Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, where Silka calcium silicate units are known as a reliable and safe product.
Calcium silicate units are a mineral building material and enables the construction of energy-efficient, sustainable and long-lasting buildings, making an important contribution to climate and environmental protection.
